Features of Seminar on hops in Japan - 2019

Francis HEITZ and Sebastien HOHENTANNER (BET) trained a group of more than 20 microbreweries in understanding and using Alsatian hops.

The following themes were discussed:

- Presentation of Alsace

- Presentation of Comptoir Agricole’s hop sector: from its early days to the founding of the HOP France brand

- Presentation of current and future varieties

The break was devoted to a session “sniffing” the Strisselspalt, Aramis, Triskel, Barbe Rouge, Mistral and Elixir varieties and a few experimental varieties.

The second part of the seminar was given over to their use in beer

The day was rounded off in a more celebratory ambiance around a barbecue.

Conversations about our hops went swimmingly, as some of the participants were already familiar with them and had already been using them with great success.
