Features of Comptoir Agricole at the Brau - Nuremberg 2018

The turnout this year was exceptional.

Discussions dealt with the hop supply, principally, organic hops, availability of which remains stretched.

Comptoir Agricole wants to expand from 20 hectares to 60 hectares of organic production by 2020/2021, quite a long lead time but necessary to convert from conventional hops to organic hops.

As expected, visitors took the opportunity provided by this event to sample beers brewed using the new BARBE ROUGE and MISTRAL varieties, with moderation as ever.

Highlights:

- ARAMIS Demoiselle

- An IPA with MISTRAL, particularly commented upon by visitors

- An IPA with TRISKEL

- … with late hopped BARBE ROUGE, from the BARBE ROUGE beer selection used for BARBE ROUGE Day

The main attraction this year was “BARBE ROUGE Day”.

An entire day devoted to checking out the BARBE ROUGE variety, brewed differently: late hopping, whirlpooling, dry hopping, oil hopping.

Admittedly, dry hopping got the most attention, closely followed by oil hopping, but it was not unusual to find fans of the last two brews… always a question of taste, we guess!

A big thank you to our many visitors and see you next year… in Nuremberg!
